Northern coast of Iran — February 6, 2014
A satellite image taken yesterday over Iran's northern coast shows the western and central Caspian shoreline, particularly around Kelachay and Tonekabon, covered uniformly in white.
The image also shows several reservoirs around Tehran, where the water shortage affecting the dams can be seen to some extent. Given the recent precipitation and the existing snow cover over the Alborz Mountains, some of this water deficit is expected to be replenished.
